Therapy for Adults & Young People

Individual counselling/psychotherapy for adults, children, adolescents & families. Online or in-person, with sessions typically booked on a fortnightly basis. Initial consultations are required with a parent prior to booking a young person’s session.

Couples / Relationship Therapy

Online or in-person, these sessions often focus on evaluating your relationship, conflict management and communication style. Joint sessions are typically scheduled first and then individual sessions to explore individual needs on a deeper level. Therapy often then continues as joint sessions.

Family Court-Ordered Post-Separation Therapy

Reportable or non-reportable, this specialized therapy is designed to help separated parents communicate more effectively, with a focus on improving the relationship between co-parents and their children. An Intake & Assessment Session is required before scheduling an Intervention & Therapy Session.

Family Consultant

Family and child consultancy fees are tailored to each unique family situation. Our services may include Family Report Writing, Single Expert Witness services, and Child Consultant for Child-Inclusive Mediation (CIM). The family consultant will require an overview of the case and an outline of the expected services. Therefore, fees are based on an estimated case plan.

Parenting Coordinator

The family law parenting coordinator process involves a neutral third party, known as a parenting coordinator, who assists separated or divorced parents in implementing and adhering to their parenting plan. This process typically includes an initial consultation to understand the family's dynamics and needs, followed by regular sessions to address ongoing issues and facilitate cooperation between co-parents.

Private Health Funds

There are some practitioners at Best Life Therapy & Mediation who are not able to, or do not provide Medicare Rebates through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) but provide rebates for people who have Private Health Insurance with extras cover. Please contact your private health insurance fund to determine your level of coverage. Medicare

To be eligible to receive psychological services under Medicare, a person must be referred by his or her GP and in some instances by another medical specialist. Speak to your GP about your eligibility to claim these Medicare benefits and the best person to make your referral. Medicare rebates are available for therapeutic treatment by practitioners that are registered allied health providers under the Australian Government's Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. Please contact the practice to determine whether your practitioner is able to provide Medicare rebated services.
